|International Transport Companies Association welcomes Iran’s decision to open Iraq route||
TEHRAN - The International Transport Companies Association released a statement on August 9 to welcome Iran’s decision permitting Turkish trucks traveling to Iraq to pass through Iran amid growing security risks in the region.
The move had stirred hopes of solving the problems transporters are experiencing in the region, according to the statement.
Iranian Industry, Mines, and Trade Minister Mohammad-Reza Ne’matzadeh said on August 8 that Iran had given permission for Turkish trucks traveling to northern Iraq to pass through Iran due to the advances made by ISIL militants in the region.
Turkish transporters have expressed their pleasure with the Iranian government’s move.
