Iran’s non-oil exports has increased four-fold in recent six years, said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejd here on Saturday.
He made the remarks in a ceremony to celebrate the national day of industry and mine.
Pointing that Iran’s non-oil exports were only 7 billion dollars seven years ago, he added that the figure increased to 32 billion dollars last year, 60 percent of the income gained through industrial exports.
“This huge growth has happened in a period while U.S.-led sanctions against Iran, especially in economic and industrial sectors, have been intensified”, Ahmadinejad added, saying that this growth showed ineffectiveness of the sanctions.
He also announced that Iran managed to save 20 percent of its oil income last year for the first time in recent decades.
