Dovood Salehi announced Iran’s readiness to help Spain in the current hard situation of financial crisis in the EU.

In the meeting, the Spanish ambassador in Tehran, Leopoldo Stampa, emphasized that his country is keen to boost its bilateral relations with Iran, especially in agriculture, industry and tourism sectors.

The ambassador expressed his country’s preparedness to expand ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Oil and gas trades account for most of the economic cooperation between Tehran and Madrid. Spain is among the main buyers of Iran's crude oil, and 15 percent of the country's oil imports are from the Islamic Republic, Press TV reported.

There are more than 1,500 Spanish companies working in different sectors including electricity generation and renewable energy in Iran.
