Dr. Esmail Kahrom, in an interview with the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency, has said, “Every day we witness these wild birds, chiefly flamingoes and swans, flying over Omid township near the garden, then returning to their settlements.”

He said that this garden and the jungle surrounding it is a rare and unique example of its kind in the Middle East and around the world.

According to Kahrom, all necessary measures have been taken in the garden to protect the rights of animals and a clear example of that is bird laying eggs which is seen widely in the garden and that only happens when these creatures are at ease in their natural habitats.

“I have used all my power and experience for both the visitors and the wild birds in the Lavizan Garden to remain in tranquility,” said Kahrom, the father of Iran’s environmentalism.

More than 14,000 visitors come for a stroll in this resort garden a few hours a day to enjoy its beautiful natural landscape; they take refuge here to escape from both the air and sound pollution and other negative aspects of modern life in the capital.
