A new study found that a diet containing too much salt (3,090mg or more) in combination with low exercise can inhibit brain functioning.

The study observed several adults between 67 and 84 years of age and those with high salt diets and little exercise did worse in cognitive tests after three years.

Those who consumed the least salt protected their cognitive functions and didn´t see any decline after the test period.
