Javadipour, celebrated Iranian painter

altMaestro Mahmoud Javadipour is a prominent Iranian painter and graphic artist whose works has been displayed in numerous group and solo exhibitions. With more than sixty years of creating various artistic styles and themes, this tireless painter is the founder of several art galleries initiated primary approaches of the graphic art and semiotics based on new thoughts. 
Born 1920 in Tehran into an encouraging environment, artistic talents were embedded in his parents’ personality. His father’s pastime was to create scenes with basic materials around him and to keep his child amused by painting for them. His mother had strong musical abilities as well as a passion for dressmaking. 
Fascinated by the sound of classical records played on the wooden gramophone, Javadipour set his heart on music at an early age. But in those days, there weren’t any conservatories or places to study music academically in the country. However, the twist of fate changed his career from the path of pursuing music to painting. He was destined to become a great painter and graphic artist whose name is linked with innovate Iranian art. Javadipour entered school to study welding and artistic printing before studying at the University of Fine Arts in Tehran to expand his talents.
Graduated in 1966 with a doctorate of Fine Arts, Javadipour was the first to use Iranian calligraphy as the subject of a painting. His early involvement in creating logos for various organizations made him see the need for graphic design studies and his suggestion was the start of graphic design studies in the country. 
He also introduced printing through separation of colors with the help of a camera and the first to start artistic print. Javadipour’s other outstanding endeavor was to be among the founding members of Iran’s first ever art gallery Apadana which opened its doors to the public in 1948 and gave space to young artists to present their thoughts and talents to all.
With over five decades of teaching both at the university and atelier, he has inspired hundreds to become active in art helped to find their own talent not just copying other people works even the style of prominent painters.
In 2005, Javadipour was honored as an Eternal Figure by the Iranian Science and Culture Hall of Fame, which is a distinguishing honor offered to Iranian chancellor scholars.
