A senior Iranian official says China has officially invited President Mahmud Ahmadinejad to attend Beijing’s 2008 Olympic Games.

Vice-President Mohammad Ali-Abadi said Saturday that although an official invitation has been extended to Ahmadinejad, there are doubts that the Iranian president would be able to attend the Olympic Games, ISNA news agency reported.
An Iranian sports official, however, said that a final decision has not yet been made and that President Ahmadinejad might attend the para-Olympic games.
The 2008 Summer Olympics will be held in Beijing, China from Aug 8 to 24, 2008.
