World welcomes Iran’s proposed package: SNSC secretary

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeid Jalili said here on Sunday that Iran’s proposed package has created a suitable opportunity for logical dialogue for global peace and security.

Jalili made the remarks in a meeting with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Kenichiro Sasae in Tehran on Sunday.

The countries of the world have welcomed Iran’s proposed package, Jalili said.

Iran’s proposed package has a positive look at the issue and has been drawn up based on collective cooperation to urge cooperation in various political, security and economic issues at the regional and international level, Jalili said.

One of the pivotal aspects of the proposed package is to seek global efforts for nuclear disarmament, he said adding that Japan is a victim of nuclear weapons and Japan’s support for this would be very valuable.

Iran is now experiencing a political, economic and security stability, Jalili said adding that the country is now enjoying a democratic, powerful and vibrant government with promising future.

Iran has always employed all its capabilities to help restore peace and tranquility in the region and the world, he said and highlighted the significant role of the country in political developments in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as sparing no efforts to help restore stability and tranquility in Lebanon.

The Japanese envoy, for his part, underlined the significant role of Iran in regional developments and said Iran’s proposed package indicates the country’s goodwill for international cooperation.

Commonalties in Iran’s proposed package would be regarded as a good base to initiate talks, he pointed out.
