Iran futsal team to visit Slovenia in March

TEHRAN — Iran’s futsal team will play Slovenia in early March 2009, according to the Iranian futsal committee president.

“Slovenia has officially invited us to travel to that country to hold a warm up match against the team,” said Abbas Torabian.

Belgium’s football federation has also offered an invitation to Iran to hold two friendly matches.

Iran’s futsal team had an outstanding performance in the 2008 Futsal World Cup held in Brazil. The Asian reigning champions failed to advance to the semi-final round due to goal difference
