TEHRAN - The deputy parliament speaker said on Tuesday that the International Atomic Energy Agency is legally required to provide technical assistance to Iran to enrich uranium with a purity of 20 percent for the Tehran research reactor.

“The International Atomic Energy Agency is duty bound to help the Islamic Republic of Iran enrich uranium to 20 percent in order to meet the needs of the Tehran reactor,” MP Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi told the Mehr News Agency.

The senior lawmaker also said “we are ready to buy the needed fuel” for the reactor and the IAEA must facilitate the purchase of the fuel through its supervision.
