Iran might withdraw from IWAS due to swine flu

TEHRAN - President of Iran National Paralympic Committee, Mahmoud Khosravi-Vafa said Iranian athletes will likely pull out of the IWAS (International Wheelchair and Amputee Sport Federation) competitions because of swine flu.
The tournament will be held in Bangalore, India, from November 22 to December 2.
“Iranian athletes’ health is very important to us. It can be dangerous for participants. Iran might withdraw from the IWAS,” Khosravi Vafa said.
“We will discuss the matter in the next few days. Many training camps have been held so far, but I think it is better not to go to the event,” he added.
Khosravi Vafa praised Iran’s junior sitting volleyball team championship in Mashhad, saying,” We defended our title in the World Championship. These kinds of the competitions help us find new talents for the upcoming competitions.”
The games in Bangalore will feature 10 competitive events and a demonstration game with over 1000 athletes from over 62 countries participating
