Iranian minister urges media campaign against Israel

TEHRAN – Iranian Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi suggested on Sunday that the resistance movements should launch an all-out media and internet campaign to highlight the Zionist regime’s atrocities in the occupied territories.

Media war will be of great help to raise the international community’s awareness about Israeli conducts, the minister noted.
“The social networking sites could provide the ground for exposing the Zionist regime’s atrocities; and through these networks they (Palestinian groups) can start a full-scale war against global arrogance and Israel,” Moslehi told a conference entitled “National and Islamic Unity for the Future of Palestine”.
He also noted that Israel seeks to drive a wedge between Muslims to advance its own agenda as he urged the Islamic countries to maintain unity.
Terror is sign of Zionist regime’s weakness
Saeed Jalili, the Supreme National Security Council secretary, told the conference that assassinations and terrors by Israel are indicative of the regime’s weakness.
Jalili was referring to the murder of a Hamas leader, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, in Dubai last month.
On the importance of resistance, he pointed out that the struggle to liberate Palestine is not only liberating the occupied territories per se, rather it represents an attempt to “liberate” the entire world from global arrogance.
In addition, he condemned the United States’ support for the Jundullah terrorist group, calling it a sign of weakness as well.
The Jundullah terrorist group leader Abdolmalek Rigi was captured by Iranian security forces on February 23.
Judaization of al-Qods
Ahmed Jibril, secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, also said the Judaization of al-Qods (Jerusalem) is a great conspiracy.
Jibril praised the Islamic Republic of Iran for supporting Palestinians.
“The resistance has achieved great successes, and we are proud that this divine resistance is inspired by Iran and Syria’s supports,” he noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Jibril criticized Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas for his approach during the 22-day war on Gaza in January 2009.
“Mahmoud Abbas was waiting for Gaza to fall into the hands of the Zionists so that they (Abbas and his allies) could make their way into Gaza,” he asserted.
He also said it is unlikely that Israel launch another attack on the Gaza Strip as the regime failed to achieve any of its goals in the attack on the blockaded enclave.
The PFLP secretary general also called on all Muslim nations to increase their support for the Palestinian people.
Iran will stand on the side of Palestinians
Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani told the conference that the Iranian nation will always stand on the side of the Palestinian people.
He pointed out that the Zionist regime could never survive without the U.S. support. He said the United States and Israel have been trying to portrait their “modern savagery” as peace overtures.
The Iranian parliament speaker also criticized the West for chanting slogans of democracy in the Middle East while labeling the democratically elected government of Hamas as terrorist.
Larijani said the right strategy for Palestine today is “jihad and resistance”
