Iran beats South Korea in Seoul

SEOUL - Iran defeated South Korea by a solitary goal at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Tuesday.

Masoud Shojaei received an excellent pass from Pejman Nouri and found the back of the net in the 39th minute.
Iran, who had defeated China 2-0 in another friendly match on Saturday, received a boost ahead of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup by beating the Korean outfit in their home. The Manchester United midfielder Ji-sung Park captained the South Korean team in this match.
Iran had not defeated South Korea in Seoul since 1971 at which the west Asian team beat its rival 2-0
