ALGIERS At least 22 people have been killed since Thursday in Algeria, independent Algerian newspapers reported Sunday. A member of a self defense group (GLD) and his 10-year-old daughter had their throats slit Friday by an armed group at Tifrit in the Saida region, 350 kilometers (210 miles) south-west of Algiers, according to the daily Tribune. The group of 10 armed men, responsible for this attack and many bombings in the region, has been wiped out by security forces in the Boukhors area, reports El Khabar. Ten armed men were killed Thursday by security forces during an attack on a police station in Reghaia, 25 kilometers east of Algiers, as they tried to spring three of their colleagues arrested in a neighboring town, said the El-Acil newspaper.
