Iran, Sri Lanka ink 8 cooperation agreements

TEHRAN -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad here on Tuesday said that Iran and Sri Lanka had signed 8 memorandums of understanding on economic, industrial, and cultural cooperation.
In a press conference with his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ahmadinejad expressed hope that the implementation of the agreements will pave the ground for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries.Rajapaksa, for his part, said that the agreements, once being implemented, will play a constructive role in the future of Sri Lanka and expressed hope that the two countries’ historic and friendly relations will pave the ground for further development of bilateral relations.
He also invited Ahmadinejad to visit Sri Lanka
