Iran should turn into model country: Ahmadinejad
February 5, 2009
MASHHAD (IRNA) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that Iran should be turned into a model country for all nations.“We should build Iran and turn it into a model state for all nations,” said President Ahmadinejad after inaugurating a big project for transfer of water from Friendship Dam to Mashhad and on the sidelines of his visit to a water treatment center.
He said, “Building Iran is an ideal and extensive job and all necessary requirements should be provided.”
He added that Iran should make swift progress in all fields of medicine, humanity and infrastructures.
“While making progress in aerospace technology, we should take minor works and projects into consideration because the latter is as important as the former.”
The president said that the Iranian nation will conquest all peaks of progress one after another in the future.
Elsewhere in his remarks, President Ahmadinejad said more than 70,000 development projects are being launched nationwide and more than 20,000 others have become operational as part of celebrations for `10-Day Dawn’ (February 1-11), marking victory anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
Power comes with scientific capability
Ahmadinejad, during “Scientific power means National power” conference, on Wednesday said the launching of data-processing satellite remarkably improved Iran’s scientific position in the world.
He said the word “power”, in its true sense, is not exercising authority over others but rather it is improving one’s capabilities through scientific achievements.
Saying that knowledge and power were two attributes of God Almighty that in fact were rooted in a single source, he said only that kind of power would benefit a nation which is inspired by its own capabilities.
He said the Islamic Revolution is by now in great need of speedy scientific movement to maintain and advance its ideals and, noting that this was the sixth scientific gathering he was attending in the past 40 days, recommended all Iranian scientists and experts to solidly rely on their own capabilities and potentials.
He further urged Iranian scientists and academics to try to remove the scientific monopoly certain world countries are trying to impose on the world.
