TEHRAN -- NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins has paid tribute to the Iranian basketball player Hamed Haddadi.

Center Haddadi, who has been recalled from the NBA Development League’s Dakota Wizards on March 18 for the second time, averaged 7.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 13 minutes in the last three games.
“He has surprised me in the way that he is playing in the games. There have been times in practice that he has shown that he can contribute. It is nice to see a young player develop and come along,” Lionel Hollins said.
The Ahvaz, Iran native recorded two points and one rebound in four minutes in his NBA debut on December 30 versus Phoenix, becoming the first Iranian-born player to appear in an NBA game
