TEHRAN – Police chief Ismail Ahmadi Moqaddam warned on Monday that police will take firm action against people who cause disturbances during the celebrations marking the Chaharshanbeh-Suri festival late Tuesday.

The Iranian traditional fire festival of Chaharshanbeh-Suri is celebrated on the last Tuesday night of the Iranian calendar year, which starts on March 21.
“If any individual exhibits dangerous behaviors or cause disturbance, police will deal with them firmly, and some people who can not contain their excitement will be arrested,” he added.
