Iran to compete at IBSA World Games

Iran is going to take part in the 5th edition of the IBSA World Games in South Korea.

Iran will participate with 37 athletes in the event which will take place in Seoul from May 8 to 18.
The IBSA World Championships is an international multi-sport event organized by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) for visually impaired persons in sports.

The 5th edition will include competitions in Powerlifting, Judo, Goalball, Football, Chess, Tenpin Bowling, Tandem Cycling, Swimming, Showdown and Athletics.

Iranian athletes will take part in powerlifting, goalball, judo and athletics events.

The competitions in athletics, swimming, goalball and judo are part of the qualification process for the Paralympic Games.

Under the slogan of “See with Passion, Run with Hope,” the quadrennial event will bring together 6,000 athletes from 80 different countries to compete in nine disciplines, including soccer, judo, swimming and athletics.

The last edition was hosted in Antalaya, Turkey, with more than 1,100 athletes from 71 countries participating.
