TEHRAN - Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has said he will not endorse anyone in the upcoming parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections which will be held in early 2016.

“First, I will not run for the parliament due to my age, but I will say my views, that is, I will tell my criteria of a Majlis representative,” the veteran politician said, the Tabnak news website reported on Sunday.

He added, “Also, if I come to the conclusion that I should run for the Assembly of Experts, I will do so.”

“I will endorse no one in either of the elections, but I will tell my criteria and people will see the criteria and vote according to their discernment to those who have signed up.”
