Producer takes “Shahrzad” to European Film Market

TERHAN – Producer Seyyed Mohammad Emami is presenting his popular political romance series of “Shahrzad” at the European Film Market (EFM), which opened on February 11 as part of the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.

“Shahrzad” directed by Hassan Fat’hi had its premiere in October at EMFilm, a film production company in Cologne. EMFilm acquired the franchise for distribution of the series across Europe.

The series starring Ali Nasirian, Taraneh Alidusti, Shahab Hosseini, Parinaz Izadyar and Mostafa Zamani is currently being distributed by the home video market in Iran.

The first episode of the weekly series was released on October 12, 2015. So far, seventeen episodes of the series have been released in the country.

According to the organizers of the European Film Market, over 8,000 producers, exhibitors, world sales, buyers and financiers are expected to attend the market this year. And a total of 38 state-of-the-art cinemas are at the service of market participants for screenings.

Organized in cooperation with Screen International, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, the European Film Market will run until February 19.
