TEHRAN – Iranian artists Ramin Shirdel and Alireza Astaneh will put their calligraphic sculptures on display during an exhibition on the sidelines of the 7th Edition of Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial 2016, which will be held from April 6 to June 6.
Shirdel told the Persian service of Honaronline on Thursday that the works will be showcased at the Sharjah Art Museum.
“The side section program is dedicated to solo exhibitions by the participating artists,” he added.
The Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial has always been recognized as one of the most remarkable events taking place in the region.
The event is a celebration of calligraphy and aims to make the world realize the beauty and authenticity of the letters.
Calligraphy also introduces the features of Islamic civilization as it is a major form of artistic expression in Islamic cultures, especially and particularly in religious contexts.
The Sharjah biennial is organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation.
