‘343 Noruz travelers survived certain death on April 1’
TEHRAN — With timely intervention of the rescue and relief forces 343 travelers survived certain death on April 1, the last day of the Noruz holidays in Iran which is called the Day of Nature, Rescue and Relief Chief Nasser Charkhsaz said.
Within this day 424 rescue operations were conducted, Charkhsaz noted, adding some 8,000 travelers also received relief services, Fars news agency reported.
“224 of the victims were transferred to hospitals and 2,011 others received outpatient treatments,” he added.
Charkhsaz went on to say that 350 travelers were provided with emergency accommodation and 3,359 were given temporary accommodation on this day.
Furthermore, he said, 18 rescue operations to set free those who were accidentally trapped in various places were carried out.
