Lozano: We have to face big teams to know our weaknesses
TEHRAN - Iran volleyball team head coach Raul Lozano believes that his team must face big teams in warm-up games in order to know its weaknesses.
“I know the Iranian people’s expectation is very high from their volleyball team and we have to work hard to make them happy. We will train six weeks in Tehran then we will fly to Paris to face France in two friendly games after that we will go to Japan to face Poland. We will find our weak points in big games then we need to solve them,” Lozano told reporters.
“Considering the time we have until the Olympic qualifiers I prefer to face the big teams. I believe we have a very good chance to book a place in the 2016 Olympics in Rio,” Lozano added.
The preparatory camp of Iran has already been started on March 27 for having a better performance in Olympic Qualifier. Thirty-two players have got the chance to be in the camp.
in Japan’s Olympic Qualifier, Iran is to compete with Australia, China, the host Japan, Venezuela, Canada, Poland, and France for four Olympic tickets that will be awarded to the top three teams and the best Asian teams.
