TEHRAN - Deputy Majlis Speaker Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabifard said on Sunday that expansion of relations between Iran and Kazakhstan as two “important” and “influential” countries will benefit the entire region.

“Affinities between the two countries’ people in various areas, especially cultural and religious links, have provided a suitable ground for expansion of friendly relations,” he said during a meeting with Kazakh Ambassador to Iran Amreyev Bagdad.

The two countries have many capacities to strengthen cooperation which should be used, he added.

Pointing to spread of terrorism and extremism in the world, he said it is essential to boost unity and solidarity among Muslims in fight against terrorism and extremism.

For his part, Bagdad said that Kazakhstan welcomes expansion of cooperation with Iran in various spheres.
