“Persian Carpet” to premier at Montreal WFF

TEHRAN -- The documentary film “Persian Carpet” which was produced by 15 filmmakers in collaboration and directed by Reza Mirkarimi is scheduled to premier at the 31st Montreal World Film Festival (WFF) which will take place from August 23 to September 3, 2007. It previously participated at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The movie is scheduled to be screened in the gala’s ‘Hors Concorous’ {World Greats, out-of competition} section and is composed of various parts which have been produced by different filmmakers. Among the episodes of the film are ‘The Nomadic Carpet’ by Behruz Afkhami, ‘The 3D Carpet’ by Rakhshan Bani-E’temad and ‘The Eloquent Carpet’ by Bahram Beizaii. The Farabi Cinema Foundation announced that it plans to hold a special ceremony and a press conference as sidelines to the film’s international debut. All 15 directors will be invited to attend the event. The documentary won the National Outlook Award of the 25th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran in early February.
