TEHRAN – Iran on Sunday officially launched the production line of a surface-to-surface ballistic missile with a range of 700 kilometers.

The missile called Zolfaqar uses solid-fuel technology.

The missile is capable of hitting its target with a pin point accuracy.

The mass production of the missile was launched as Iran is marking the anniversary of its “sacred defense” against the invading Saddam Army in 1980.

The missile is capable of evading jamming signals in electronic warfare.

Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan attended the launching ceremony.
