TEHRAN – Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Mohammad Reza Sheibani has returned home after a five-year service in Syria.

According to ILNA, he arrived in Tehran on Friday, bearing with him the title of “The Defendant of the Shrine”.

The Iranian charge d’affaire is now heading the embassy. He will handle the issues until a new ambassador is appointed.

Who will replace Shehibani is not still clear to media.
