Rouhani welcomes meeting with Putin, Erdogan on Syria war: source
TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has welcomed attending a meeting with his Russian and Turkish counterparts in Astana, Kazakhstan, to discuss a solution to the protracted Syrian crisis, an informed source said on Friday.
“Following invitation of Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, for our president to hold talks on Syria in Kazakhstan, he [Rouhani] has welcomed the invitation,” the source told Mehr news agency.
Russia and Turkey brokered a truce across Syria despite initial efforts to violate it.
The truce took effect on Friday.
