TEHRAN – Three Iranian films will go on screen in the various sections of the 36th Istanbul Film Festival, which will open in the Turkish city on Thursday.

“Parting”, a joint production of Iran and Afghanistan by Navid Mahmudi, will compete in the Human Rights in Cinema section.

The film is about Nabi and Fereshteh, a young refugee couple from Afghanistan that attempt to flee to Europe through Tehran.

Behnam Behzadi’s social drama “Inversion” will be screened in the Best of the Fests section.

The movie starring Ali Mossafa and Sahar Dowlatshahi is a tale of three siblings, which masterfully features Tehran’s air pollution.

In addition, “76 Minutes and 15 Seconds with Abbas Kiarostami”, a montage film made by Iranian filmmaker Kiarostami’s close friend Seifollah Samadian, will be shown in the Cinemania section of the festival, which will run until April 15.
