Iran’s Alipour wins gold medal at IFSC World Cup

Reza Alipour from Iran won the gold medal of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup on Sunday.


The Iranian climber finished in first place in speed event with a time of 5:54 seconds.
Alipour set a new record in the competition’s semi-final with a time of 5:48 seconds, bettering Danyil Boldyrev’s record by 0.10 seconds.

The third stage of the Bouldering World Cup 2017 took place at Nanjing in China, as was the second stage of the Speed World Cup 2017.
The IFSC Climbing World Cup is a series of climbing competitions held annually and organized by the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC).
The athletes compete in three disciplines: lead, bouldering and speed. The number of competitions and venues vary from year to year.
The first World Cup was held under the auspices of UIAA in 1989, World Cups were held under the auspices of IFSC from 2007. For this reason before 2007 the World Cup was called UIAA Climbing World Cup.
