“The Adventures of Pinocchio” coming to Tehran book fair

TEHRAN – A Persian translation of the original Italian version of Carlo Collodi’s 1883 novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio” is scheduled to be unveiled during a special ceremony at the Tehran International Book Fair.

The ceremony will be held on Friday at the pavilion of Italy, which is the special guest of the book fair, Sepas, the Iranian publisher of the book, announced on Tuesday.

Gholamreza Emami is the translator of the Persian version, which carries the illustrations from the original version by Roberto Innocenti.

The book also includes the articles by Italian Orientalists Mario Casari and Angelo Michele Piemontese about the Persian version of Pinocchio. 

Pinocchio is a wooden puppet carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a village near Florence and he dreams of becoming a real boy. He is famous for his nose that becomes longer when he lies.
