TEHRAN – An exhibition of exquisite jewelry crafted by Iranian Turkmen nomads opened to the public at the Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex in northern Tehran on May 18, which marks the International Museum Day.

Ornaments to clothing, head, forehead, hair, ears, neck, chest, wrists, fingers as well as the ones appropriate for children and houses are seen in the exhibit, CHTN reported on Thursday.

The objects have not been put on show before and they are belonging to the treasure trove of the complex, the source added.

Turkmen jewelry designs mainly feature floral patterns, animals and abstract images, relying on geometric patterns amongst them circles, triangles, squares and rectangles.

The semi-nomadic Iranian Turkmen are primarily living in Turkmen Sahra region in northern Iran.

The exhibit runs through May 26.
