Iranian freestylers crowned Asian Junior champion

Two day after winning title of the Greco-Roman in Asian Junior Wrestling Championships, the Iranian freestylers finished in first place in Chinese Taipei on Sunday.

The Iranian team won three gold medals, two silvers and two bronzes, claiming the title with 69 points.

Uzbekistan finished in second place with 67 points and Kazakhstan came third with 57 points.

In the 74kg weight class, Mohammad Mottaghinia defeated Isa Shapiev of Uzbekistan and won a gold medal.

Ahmad Yousef Bazrighaleh defeated Indian Deepak Punia in the 84kg to earn Iran’s second gold medal in the competition.

Danial Mahdi Shariatinia defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Dinislambek Taalaibek Uulu in the 96kg and won a gold medal.

Yones Emami lost to Sharvan Sharvan from India in the 60kg and seized a silver medal.

Amirhossein Hosseini was defeated against Japanese Ryoma Anraku in the 66kg class and won the silver medal.

Nader Nasri in the 55kg and Shayan Jalilzadeh in the 120kg snatched two bronze medals for the Iranian team.

 The 2017 Junior Asian Wrestling Championships were held at the National Taiwan University of Sport in Taichung city of Chinese Taipei from June 15-18.
