Iran’s Mojallali wins bronze at ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships

Adel Mojallali from Iran claimed a bronze medal at the 2017 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships on Saturday.

The Persian finished in third place at the C1 men’s 200m with a time of 38.605 seconds.

Gold medal went to Belarus' Artsem Kozyr, who posted a time of 38.161 to ensure top honors.

Georgian Zaza Nadiradze took the silver, clocking 38.439.

The 2017 edition of the Canoe Sprint World Championships began Aug. 23 in Racice, Czech Republic.

The event also features the new Paralympic sport paracanoe which made its debut at the Rio 2016 Games. The parasport debuted at the Canoe Sprint World Championships in 2009 and has remained on the championship program ever since.

the competition in Racice concludes on Aug. 27.
