Iranian movies line up for Tirana festival

TEHRAN – Nine movies by Iranian directors will be competing in various categories of the 15th Tirana International Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held in the Albanian capital from November 3 to 11.  

“Mothering” by Roqieh Tavakkoli is the sole Iranian films competing with eight feature films from Sweden, Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia and several other countries.

In the Short Fiction Film section, “Animal” by Bahman and Bahram Ark, “Building No. 13”    by Amir Gholami and “Retouch” by Kaveh Mazaheri will be screened.

“Bystander” by Sheyda Kashi, “Light Sight”    Seyyed Moslem Tabatabai, “Pet Man” Marzieh Abrarpaydar and “The Servant” by Farnush Abedi have been selected for the Short Animated Film section.

“Lunch Time” by Alireza Qasemi will compete in the Student International category.

In addition, three Iranian artists are scheduled to hold video art performances on the sidelines of the event. The performances are “Finish” by Saeid Naqavian, “Genesis” by Abtin Mozaffari and “Label” by Amir Lashkari.
