Poet Habibollah Chaichian dies at 94

TEHRAN – Habibollah Chaichian, the Iranian poet who was mostly famous for his compositions on Prophet Muhammad (S) and his household, died of natural causes at his home in Tehran on Thursday. He was 94.

Chaichian was mostly known by his pseudonym Hesan. Two of poems on Imam Hussein (AS), and Imam Reza (AS) are very popular among Iranians.

His funeral procession began at Tehran’s Shohaday-e Tajrish Hospital on Friday and he was buried in Behesht-e Zahra, Tehran’s major cemetery.
