Italian illustrator Philip Giordano to hold workshops in Tehran

TEHRAN – The Tokyo-based Italian illustrator Philip Giordano is in Tehran to hold workshops for a number of Iranian illustrators today and tomorrow.

Organized by the Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) in collaboration with the Iranian Illustrators Society, the workshops will be held at the institute under the title “Geometric Characterization”, the ICFI announced on Wednesday. 

Giordano will also hold another workshop for illustrators from Gilan Province, which is scheduled to be organized on the sidelines of the Gilan Book Fair running in the city of Rasht from December 7 to 12.

He is also slated to lecture at the University of Gilan and the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran.

Giordano works for several magazines and does designs for books and toys. His picture books have been published in many countries, including Japan, France, South America, United Kingdom, China, Spain and Portugal. 

He is also the recipient of several awards, including a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators NY, and the International Award for Illustration from the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2010.
