Indian musicians to hold raga workshops in Tehran

TEHRAN – Three Indian musicians are scheduled to hold two joint workshops on raga, a melodic mode in Indian classical music, at the Iranian Academy of Arts in Tehran on Saturday.

Sarod virtuoso Pandit Ranajit Sengupta, tabla player Kousik Banerjee and tambura player Anik Chakraborty will hold the first workshop on Friday at 8:30 p.m., the academy announced on Tuesday.

The second workshop will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. The workshops are open to the public.
