Turkish cartoonists hang works in Tehran

TEHRAN – Tehran’s Art Bureau is displaying a collection of cartoons by a number of Turkish artists in an exhibition titled “Reverse Thinking”.

A total of 50 cartoons have been selected for the showcase at the Aali Gallery of the bureau, the organizers announced on Sunday.

Erdogan Basol, Serdar Gunbilen, Oguz Demir, Ali Sur, Ahmet Ozturk, Musa Gumus, Hakan Sumer, Tonguc Yasar and Askin Ayrancioglu are among the cartoonists whose works are on display at the exhibition that opened on Saturday and will run for ten days.

In addition, the director of the Turkish Cartoonists Association Metin Peker and a number of his fellow cartoonists are scheduled to arrive in Tehran on December 13 to visit the exhibit and hold meetings with Iranian artists. 

The guests are also expected to attend the closing ceremony of the 11th Tehran International Cartoon Biennial, which will take place at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art on December 15.
