Fajr festival announces documentary lineup

TEHRAN – Eleven films have been selected to screen in the documentary competition of the 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival, the organizers announced on Monday.

“Iran’s Lady Qods” by Mostafa Razzaq-Karimi, “Finding Farideh” co-directed by Azadeh Musavi and Kurosh Atai, “Women with Gunpowder Earrings” by Reza Farahmand and “New Wave” by Ahmad Talebinejad are among the selected films.

“Blue as the Sky” by Amir Rafiei, “In the Whirlpool of Extinction” by Fathollah Amiri, “Sarcheshmeh Assassination” by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian and “Gundeshapur” by Sudabeh Mojaveri will also go on screen at the festival.

Also included are “Razmara, a Silent Dossier” by Seyyed Ehsan Emadi, “Shouting Through the Wind” co-directed by Ata Mehrad and Siavash Jamali and “Sailors Never Go to the Sea Alone” by Allahkaram Rezai.

The 36th Fajr Film Festival will be held in Tehran from February 1 to 11, 2018.
