Tehran Intl. FICTS Festival unveils doc lineup

TEHRAN – The 11th edition of the Tehran International FICTS Festival, an event for sports films, announced the lineup for the documentary section on Wednesday.

Ten full-length documentary films have been selected to go on screen at the event.

Among the films are “Sachin: A Billion Dreams” by James Erskine from the UK, “17” by Widad Shafakoj from Jordan, “The Red Green” by Ersin Kana, “Variations of Attack from the Third Zone” by Sedat Sahin and “Baglar” by  Melis Birder and Berke Bas, all from Turkey.

Iranian films “Advantage” by Mohammad Kart, “Zero to Platform” by Sahar Mosayyebi, “Super Marathon” by Saeid Keshavarz, “Mr. Special” by Mehdi Bargenil and “Farshad, the Top Scorer” by Jafar Sadeqi are also on the lineup.

A lineup of mid-length and short documentary films, including “Amer: An Arabian Legend” by Jassim Al-Rumaihi from Qatar, “Imara” by Samuel Wanjohi from Kenya and “One Goal” by Yasmin Kidwai from India, will also compete in the event.

“The Philosophy of Football” by Ali Yekta, “The Blue Bird” by Kaveh Bahrami, “Key” by Mohsen Khanjahani and “My Sister Mohadeseh” by Amirmasud Hosseini, all from Iran, will be screened at the festival.

The festival is organized by the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (FICTS) and is a part of the World FICTS Challenge that runs in 16 countries around the world.

The Iranian edition of the festival will be held from January 15 to 25 in collaboration with the National Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, IRIB and the Tehran Municipality.
