ECO Cultural Institute, Farabi Cinema Foundation sign MOU

TEHRAN – A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Cultural Institute (ECI) and Iran’s Farabi Cinema Foundation in Tehran on Sunday.

Based on the MOU, which was inked by ECO Cultural Institute director Mohammad-Mehdi Mazaheri and Farabi Cinema Foundation director Alireza Tabesh, a plan to make a film on Noruz, the Iranian New Year celebration, by ECO member states was discussed, Farabi announced in a press release.

In a meeting between the managers, both parties also agreed to establish funds and an organization for regional film cooperation.  

Based on the MOU, the two organizations also will help collaborations on cinema among the member states expand.

A committee composed of experts from the two organizations will hold a session in a month based on the MOU, which will be legally enforceable for two years.
