TEHRAN- Iranian Industry, Mining and Trade Minister announced on Saturday that auto industry owns a 17-pecern-share of the total production of domestic industry in Iran, IRIB news reported.

Mohammad Shariatmadari added that domestic auto industry could manage to manufacture 1.7 million cars during the present ending Iranian calendar year (ends on March 21), which is 98 percent of its predicted production level in the said time.

According to Deputy Industry Minister Mohsen Salehinia, Iran’s car manufacturing in the first ten months of this year stood at 1.41 million and the figure has been more than the total car output of the past year which was 1.365 million.

Iran manufactured 1.3 million cars in the past calendar year.
