Tehran hosting 2nd women’s intl. Quran competition

TEHRAN – Representatives from 28 countries are participating in the second international Quran competition for Muslim women, which started in Tehran on Saturday and will wrap up today.

The event aims to pave the way for making women more acquainted with the Holy Quran and deepen the relationship between Muslim women all around the world, Mehr quoted Masoumeh Farzaneh, head of women’s committee for the 35th International Holy Quran Competition, as saying.
Hakimeh Nasiri represents Iran in the competition.
Over 300 reciters and memorizers from 83 countries will be participating in the 35th International Quran Competition opening in Tehran on April 19.
The Quran reciters and memorizers will be attending in different categories including competitions for females, clerics, students, adults and visually-impaired individuals. The competition will be running until April 26.
