TEHRAN – The soundtrack from Iranian director Ebrahim Hatamikia’s Daesh drama “Damascus Time” composed by Karan Homayunfar was released during a ceremony held before a special screening of the movie in Tehran. 

Hatamikia, Homayunfar and Joseph Salameh, the Lebanese actor who is starring as Abu Omar al-Shishani in the film, attended the ceremony organized at the Kurosh Cineplex.

“I have always said that working with Hatamikia is a great honor for me. I have composed over 100 soundtracks but none was as hard as the one for ‘Damascus Time’, that is why I made it with all my heart,” Homayunfar said at the ceremony.

“Damascus Time” is about an Iranian pilot and his son as copilot who are seized by the Daesh forces in Syria when are in the country to deliver a cargo of humanitarian relief supplies to people in a war-torn region.

A performance organized by the distributor of the film at the complex frightened filmgoers and those people who were in nearby shops. 

In the performance, which was not announced beforehand, a group of the film’s extras clad in Daesh attire and carrying guns and swords suddenly entered the complex.
 
In a statement published on Tuesday, Hatamikia said that he was unaware of the incident and apologized for the conduct.
