Mehdi Fakhimzadeh suffers injury on film set

TEHRAN – Iranian action star-turned-director Mehdi Fakhimzadeh injured himself while he was on the set of his current film reportedly named “The Last Fist”, the public relations office of the film said in a statement published on Wednesday.

The incident happened while Fakhimzadeh was performing a stunt riding a motorbike on Chalus Road in the Northern Province of Mazandaran.

The actor was taken to nearby Taleqani Hospital in Chalus on Wednesday, after suffering multiple injuries, but no broken bones were reported. He was later transferred to Tehran for further treatment.

According to various reports released by Persian media, the actor’s level of consciousness was 7 on Thursday and the physicians have made their best efforts to bring him back to full recovery.

“He is completely conscious now and is feeling much better. The physicians are seeking a treatment to cure the minor brain bleeding without surgery,” Khosro Amir Sadeqi, the actor’s close friend told the Persian service of ISNA on Friday.

He is still hospitalized in the ICU section and no visitors are allowed.

Fakhimzadeh is famous among Iranian TV addicts for his police productions.

He has acted in many films including “The Spouse” and “Passengers of Moonlight”, as well as the TV series “Mukhtarnameh”.

Fakhimzadeh has directed the blockbuster TV series “The Loneliest Commander,” on Imam Hassan (AS), and “The Imamate of Love”, about Imam Reza (AS).
