Deputy FM meets top Venezuelan officials

TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi held separate talks on Saturday with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and President of the National Assembly of Venezuela Omar Barboza, discussing bilateral ties and international matters.

In his meeting with Maduro, the Iranian diplomat said U.S. President Donald Trump’s unilateral policies are undermining non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and international law, IRNA reported.

He appreciated Venezuela president’s policies against unilateralism adopted by the Trump administration.

Sarmadi also submitted President Rouhani’s letter to Maduro congratulating him for his re-election as president.
