Bahaeddin Khorramshahi’s “Hafez” translated into English

TEHRAN – The director of the London-based publisher Candle and Fog said on Saturday that Bahaeddin Khorramshahi’s “Hafez” has been translated into English by Mojtaba Habibi.

Candle and Fog is scheduled to publish the book, which has been edited by Leonard Lewisohn, an American expert on the Persian language, Islamic studies and Sufi literature, Afshin Shahnetabar told the Persian service of Fars.

Lewisohn is the editor of “Mawlana Rumi Review”, a publication of the Rumi Institute and Archetype, Cambridge.

Candle and Fog plans to display the English version of “Hafez” at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October. In addition, the publisher is scheduled to unveil the book during a special ceremony in London.   

Khorramshahi is famous for his comprehensive studies on the Persian poet, the most significant of which have been published in the 12-volume collection “Hafeznameh”.

He is also the director of a team of Hafez scholars, who are working on an encyclopedia on Hafez.
