Iranian photographer wins FIAP Gold Medal at Turkish contest

TEHRAN – Iranian photographer Mir Kian Roshan-nia has won the Gold Medal of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) at The 9th Güler Ertan International Photography Contest in Turkey, the organizers announced last week.

He received the honor in the Open Monochrome category for his photo “Opposite” depicting a girl clad in reverse order. 

In this section, another Iranian photographer Amin Zamzam won an honorable mention for his photo “Deep out”.

In the Digital Open Color category, Mehdi Ruhi won an honorable mention for “Fanfare”. 

Works by several other photographers from Iran, including Saeid Arabzadeh, Javad Hassanpur, Asghar Besharati, Soheil Zandazar, Siavosh Ejlali, Seyyed Mohammad-Javad Sadri and Ehsan Jazini, have been selected to be showcased in an exhibition on July 29.

Winners will be honored during a special ceremony organized by the Photographic Arts Federation of Turkey on July 31.
